The United States-based corporations employ over 100 million overseas workers. They also hire a large number of locals who then move to take roles in other countries where the company has operations (Reichard et al. 2015). This means that Americans are exposed to a high number of people from other nations with diverse cultures in their workplaces, schools, neighborhoods and other social places. Therefore, people need to improve their intercultural communication skills to enable them to interact efficiently with people with diverse cultures. The improvement of technology has made the media an agent for enhanced globalization and cross-cultural communication. Through the media sources, people can learn about various issues occurring in different places as well as the culture, beliefs, traditions of people in distant places. This topic is important as it identifies the importance of the media in intercultural communication. It also identifies the key aspects of intercultural communication as explained by various media outlets. Methodology The work analyzes the key recommendations by the media on intergroup communication. This is official and non-official communication between people raised in different cultures. The study reviews articles from reputable media houses concerning intercultural issues. The article search will be specified on intercultural communication between members of different cultures or different countries. The main points, themes, and conclusions from the articles will then be analyzed. International exposure causes cultural understanding and sensitivity. Conclusion Globalization has brought about an increased in intercultural communication where people of different cultures have found it necessary to engage in employment, education and business with people from other areas of different cultures. The paper analyzes the review of three articles on intercultural issues. The common message from the articles was that intercultural communication is important in the present world. People need to take initiatives to learn other people’s culture for them to be able to effectively communicate with them. The articles also concluded that learning of people’s culture is essential to enable them to communicate effectively.
